AirPulse is an iOS app built by Priyanka Kodikal (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what happens to it.
If you have questions, email me: pkodikal.design@gmail.com
If you grant location permission, AirPulse reads your device’s current latitude and longitude. This is the only personal data the app touches.
AirPulse requests “When In Use” location access only. It does not access your location in the background.
If you deny location permission, no location data is collected. You can still use the app by searching for a city manually.
AirPulse does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information. There is no account, no login, and no user profile.
Your latitude and longitude are sent to the IQAir API (operated by IQAir AG) to retrieve the air quality index (AQI) for your area. IQAir receives only your coordinates — nothing that identifies you personally.
IQAir’s own privacy policy is available at: https://www.iqair.com/privacy-policy
AirPulse saves the following to your device’s local storage (UserDefaults) so the app can show your last result on relaunch:
This data never leaves your device except as described above (lat/lon sent to IQAir). It is not sent to me or any other party.
AirPulse uses one external service:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| IQAir API | Air quality data lookup | iqair.com/privacy-policy |
No other third-party SDKs or services are used.
AirPulse does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no features directed at children and collects no personal information from any user.
If this policy changes, I’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
